Liverpool’s search for a midfielder continues, with Nico Gonzalez emerging as an alternative to Martin Zubimendi. The 22-year-old Spaniard has impressed Liverpool scouts with his performances for FC Porto, where he has scored five goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances. Gonzalez, who offers a box-to-box option, has a buyout clause of £49.8m in his Porto contract.
