Arsenal Women Look to Extend Unbeaten Run Against Liverpool
The Gunners travel to St. Helens Stadium on Sunday for a Barclays Women’s Super League clash against Liverpool, aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to three months.
Arsenal are in fine form, having won six consecutive games in all competitions, including a 3-1 victory over Valerenga in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. They’ll be looking to carry this momentum into the match against Liverpool, who will be seeking to build on their 4-0 win over Everton in the Women’s League Cup.
The Reds have struggled at home this season, picking up only two points from five matches. However, they will be buoyed by the return of key players who were unavailable in their last WSL outing.
Arsenal will be without captain Kim Little and Lia Walti, but manager Renée Slegers is confident her team can secure a victory. “We want to go off that momentum,” she said. “We know they are a top side, but we won’t make it comfortable for them.”
The match kicks off at 2:30pm (UK) and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football and the WSL YouTube channel.
