Paul Gascoigne has called Frank Lampard “desperate” for accepting the Coventry manager role after a hiatus of 18 months since his last job. Lampard, who has previously managed Derby, Chelsea, and Everton, was appointed following the sacking of Mark Robins. Despite a mixed managerial record, Coventry’s captain Ben Sheaf praised Lampard’s positive energy and new ideas.
