Joe Ledley’s Deadline Day Adventure: From Missed Calls to Crystal Palace Glory
Despite turning off his phone, Ledley’s fate changed when he joined Crystal Palace on deadline day in 2014. He faced a difficult decision between Celtic and Palace but ultimately chose the Premier League.
Ledley’s arrival at Palace coincided with the signing of Wayne Hennessey, his close friend. Together, they formed a strong bond on and off the pitch.
Under Tony Pulis, Ledley played a crucial role in Palace’s survival in the Premier League. Despite a stop-start season under Alan Pardew, he remained a key player for Wales in their historic Euro 2016 campaign.
After leaving Palace in 2017, Ledley had offers from abroad but opted to stay in the Premier League. However, finding a new club proved challenging, and he eventually retired after spells with various teams.
