Manchester City’s newest signing, Aemu Oyama, has arrived at the club. The Japanese midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and is the second January acquisition for Gareth Taylor’s side. Oyama has earned an exciting reputation in Japan and for her nation’s youth sides. She was an important member of the Japan Under-16s side that won the AFC U16 Women’s Championship in 2019 and helped her Nadeshiko’s U20s to successive Women’s World Cup finals in 2022 and 2024. Oyama follows fellow Japan stars Yui Hasegawa, Ayaka Yamashita, Aoba Fujino, and Risa Shimizu in representing the Blues.
