Despite a recent victory, Real Madrid remains 16th in the Champions League table. To qualify for the knockout stages, they must finish eighth or higher in the group stage or win the two-game play-off stage. Currently, they are one point behind Bayer Leverkusen for the eighth spot. The play-offs will be held on February 11-12 and 18-19, with the knockout stages starting on March 4-5 and 11-12.
