Arsenal Held by Everton in Frustrating Draw
Arsenal missed a chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool after being held to a goalless draw by Everton at the Emirates.
The Gunners, who have now drawn two consecutive matches, struggled to break down a resolute Everton defence and failed to capitalise on Liverpool’s own draw against Fulham.
Despite a challenging schedule, manager Mikel Arteta denied fatigue was a factor and praised his players’ efforts.
“We try to look at ourselves,” said striker Kai Havertz. “Win games, get points. I think that’s the most frustrating point against Everton, that we didn’t do that.”
Arsenal now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
